The mega-popular fashion retailer UNIQLO has a new Final Fantasy t-shirt collection for the series’ 35th anniversary, and we weren’t supposed to find out yet. The information was briefly present on the clothing company’s Vietnamese site, and included promo pictures of models showcasing a graphic tee for each mainline game, including the in-development Final Fantasy XVI. Is this the first official piece of merch for that game? The photos quickly disseminated online, but we have them all here in a nice and tidy gallery, thanks to website UnGeek. Check them out below.
UNIQLO has collaborated with plenty of gaming’s biggest brands (Pokémon, Monster Hunter, Nintendo in general) in the past, but the historically fashion-forward Final Fantasy feels like an even more perfect fit. Granted, this is less high fashion and more casualwear-oriented. I like quite a few of the designs here, enough that I’ll try and keep posted with my nearest UNIQLO for an official announcement. I’ve always wanted to flaunt my love for Final Fantasy VIII in public.
