Square Enix has revealed new details on their upcoming life simulation/farming/action RPG Harvestella, which releases later this year on November 4th! The company has already given us an in-depth look at the title’s farming, crafting, socializing, and combat, but has now decided to showcase one of its key towns, residents, crops, and more.

For those of you that missed Harvestella‘s initial reveal, you can view the trailer below:

Introducing a brand-new fantasy x life simulation RPG from Square Enix! Through the changing seasons, explore an imaginative world, tend your crops, make new friends, face enemies in dynamic combat, and unravel the mystery of the season of death, Quietus.

Nemea, the Town of Spring

First up, we have a sneak peek at one of the major towns in Harvestella called Nemea! The town may seem bright and beautiful at first glance, but as night falls the town becomes plagued with vicious monsters that attack its residents.

Welcome to Nemea! In this beautiful town, the flowers bloom all year round due to the influence of the nearby Spring Seaslight.

Once night falls, the town shows a different side. Cherry blossoms dance against the night sky in a dreamlike display. Despite its beauty, there is trouble in the town of Nemea. A giant egg has appeared on the Spring Seaslight – one of the giant crystals that governs the seasons. Ever since, unfamiliar monsters have been flying into town and attacking the residents!

Istina

Istina is one of the residents of Nemea, described as a quiet intellectual who rarely displays her emotions. As a teacher at the local school, she often enjoys reading about the different locations around the world to her students. However, all isn’t as it seems for Istina; after meeting the protagonist, she must confront the secrets of her past.

The Sky Lancer

Like many RPGs, Harvestella utilizes a job system that will decide the weapons and abilities available to a given character. Previously, Square Enix had shown off the Fighter, Mage, and Shadow Walker jobs, and now with this latest blog post we’ve been given an introduction to the Sky Lancer job.

This job uses a spear and excels at physical attacks with wind attributes. Because it learns many wide-range skills that take advantage of the spear’s reach, the Sky Lancer is very useful when facing multiple enemies!

Character Stories

Many of the characters you meet throughout your time in the world of Harvestella will have their own unique stories to tell. As players progress through each individual character’s story, they’ll form stronger bonds with them, resulting in combat benefits and rewards.

Daily Life in Harvestella

The last feature the blog post highlights are some of the slice-of-life elements players will experience in Harvestella, including harvesting crops, cooking, fishing, and shipping. For the most part, all of these activities are pretty run-of-the-mill, but if you want to read about them in a bit more depth you can always check out the original blog post. The real highlight of this section, however, is the reveal of some of the food awaiting players in Harvestella:

Harvestella is set to release on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on November 4th! For more information on the title, make sure to read our previous coverage, where Gio Castillo provides an excellent breakdown of everything we knew about the game previous to this blog post.
