As part of IGN’s Awesome Indies Showcase at Gamescom 2022, Drinkbox Studios has announced DLC for Nobody Saves the World! The expansion, titled Frozen Hearth, will release on September 13th and includes a variety of new content, including the new Killer Bee and Mechanic forms, a new area, and even new challenges.
The DLC will cost $4.99 USD and will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC via Steam, GOG, and the Microsoft Store. Those of you that haven’t picked up the title itself already will be able to purchase the game and DLC in a bundle for $27.99 USD. Steam’s version of the bundle will also include the game’s OST at no additional cost.
When we shipped the original game, there were so many ideas we had to leave on the cutting room floor, and this DLC gave us a chance to bring some of them to life, We had a blast creating even more forms, as well as puzzles and challenges that make the most of the game’s mix-and-match customization!
The Frozen Hearth DLC unearths a forgotten region deep underground where the strongest warriors compete for glory in The Tempering, a series of puzzles and challenges that will push players’ transformation skills and creativity. Pass the trials of the Tempering, and players will be rewarded with the new Killer Bee and Mechanic forms, which can be used both in the DLC and in the main game.
Nobody Saves the World Vinyl Set Available Now
Drinkbox, alongside Nobody Saves the World composer Jim Guthrie, has also announced a crowdfunding campaign they are running via Bandcamp. If it reaches $7,874 USD, backers will receive a limited Nobody Saves the World colored vinyl set (two discs). The vinyl set will also include illustrations created by Drinkbox’s art director Augusto Quijano.
The campaign is currently live and is set to last until Friday, September 23rd. Assuming the vinyl set is successfully funded, backers can expect to have it on their doorstep in early 2023.
Nobody Saves the World: Frozen Hearth hits consoles and PC in just under two weeks on September 13th. Having already played the title earlier this year, I’m very much looking forward to the DLC’s release and can’t wait to dip back into this quirky gem of a game.
