RPGs Coming This Week, 12/19/22

It’s… Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. That’s the one RPG coming this week, so this week’s title is kind of a misnomer. In the spirit of uniformity, though, I’m keeping it as is. Let’s get right down to it, shall we?

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth – December 22nd (PS5, PS4)

Frankly, it makes total sense that every other RPG publisher should clear the way for the return of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. Obviously, this is a deliberate gesture of respect and deference to one of the great titles of the PlayStation era, and not because it makes zero sense to put a game out this close to the holidays. Nope.

Anyway, after a somewhat lengthy delay so that Square Enix could work on upping the port/remaster quality, we’re finally getting Lenneth digitally on a modern system that isn’t a phone. It’s genuinely exciting, especially for me, a person who has never played a single entry in the series. I may or may not hold out for a (somewhat unlikely) physical release, but it makes me glad that this game will soon be freely available once again.

Folks that preordered the deluxe version of Valkyrie Elysium should be able to pick this up as a freebie, by the way.

RPGs Coming This Week will likely not be happening next week because there isn’t anything coming out until January… unless we get some truly shocking announcements in the coming days. Of course, that’s naughty publisher behavior and warrants a reward of coal instead of cash, but don’t let me tell you what to do, reader. Well… bye!
