Nintendo and WayForward have revealed a long-awaited release date for their upcoming strategy RPG remake Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, announced today via the latest Nintendo Direct. The remake is set to launch on April 21, 2023, for Nintendo Switch.

Revealed in 2021, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp was delayed indefinitely last March from an initial slated release date of April 8th, 2022, amidst Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a conflict that is still currently ongoing.

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is a comprehensive remake of both Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, reimagining the campaign of both games into a cohesive and rebalanced duology. Players will take on the role of a tactical advisor for Orange Star Army, where one must contest and battle against myriad enemies in turn-based tactical grid maps, utilizing both terrain and specialized military units to achieve victory.

The remake will include modern improvements for the franchise including a graphical redesign, voice acting, online and local versus mode functionality, and the ability to design and share custom maps. Pre-orders for Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp are live via the Nintendo eShop.
