Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Bug Reportedly Deleting Save Data

Several Pokémon Scarlet & Violet players have expressed their frustration on Reddit about the recent patch update that is reportedly causing them to lose their save files. Nintendo is still looking for a solution to the issue, which could be related to downloading The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC and booting the game or simply pairing their Pokémon GO accounts to send postcards.

The most recent patch was meant to address some of the glitches and performance issues that players encountered when the game first launched in November 2022.

As of yet, there has been no formal announcement publicized by Nintendo. Although the majority of players may not have been affected by the bug, bringing attention and alerting everyone to it should help prevent further save files from getting corrupted. It’s probably not the best time to continue your playthrough at the moment and risk losing all of your progress with no hope of recovering.

In case you missed it, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet set the record for the franchise’s best worldwide sales in the first three days of release.
