You’d almost be forgiven for forgetting that anything is releasing this week. Between a massive new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and an unfortunate (deliberate?) leak of Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica, we’ve all been a little mentally preoccupied. Still, there are RPGs coming this week, and I command you to read about them! Let’s get cooking.
Dordogne – June 13th (PS5, XSX, PS4, XB1, Switch, Windows)
If there was ever a game to describe as painterly, it would be Dordogne, a mind-blowingly gorgeous new adventure game from French studio Un Je Ne Sais Quoi. It’s about a woman who relives her childhood memories after visiting the home of her grandmother, who recently passed away.
Dordogne isn’t really a game that falls under our coverage, but it’s close enough (and noteworthy enough, c’mon) that I feel it’s worth a mention in this week’s column. For more juicy tidbits, the game’s art director spoke with Xbox about how some locations in the real-life titular region were represented in-game. So excited for this.

Jack Jeanne – June 15th (Switch)
Jack Jeanne is an otome visual novel with rhythm and action components. Kisa Tachibana longs to be on the stage like her older brother, but circumstances seem intent on keeping her from that dream. A meeting with the principal of the all-male performing arts school Univeil leads to a new chance at her goal, but only if Kisa manages to hide her gender and land a lead role in the school’s final performance of the year. Will she be able to reach for the stars with her new schoolmates in the quirky Quartz class?
Jack Jeanne features unique character designs and script work by Sui Ishida of Tokyo Ghoul fame. I’ve been curious about Jack Jeanne for a while now, despite not being all that fond of rhythm games. The premise is very intriguing, and I hope I’ll be able to strut my stuff on stage with the best of them when it releases!

Also Coming This Week
Alchemic Cutie – June 16th (PS5, PS4, Switch)
Alchemic Cutie, the RPG about raising cute lil jellies, hits PlayStation and Nintendo Switch this week. We thought the original release on Xbox was not lacking in terms of content, but the glitches did detract from the experience. Almost two years later, I’m hoping for a smoother adventure!

And that’s that. Next week, that one game that rhymes with Binal Bantasy Bixteen is coming out, and you’d best believe we’ll be abuzz about that. You’ll also want to stay tuned to RPGFan for more summer game announcements and updates!
