NIS America has revealed The Legend of Legacy HD Remastered is coming to PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC sometime in early 2024. As you have likely deduced, this is an HD remaster of The Legend of Legacy. What is that? It’s an under-the-radar Nintendo 3DS RPG that came out somewhat late in the system’s lifespan.
Atlus held publishing rights for the original version, but The Legend of Legacy HD Remastered is all NIS. The Legend of Legacy shares a developer—Cattle Call—with The Alliance Alive, another late-era 3DS game that, similarly, got the remaster treatment for PS4 and Switch not too long ago. (It’s also on PC, iOS, and Android now.) I’m guessing that re-release did well enough to justify The Legend of Legacy HD Remastered, which I consider a tougher sell due to some pretty esoteric, SaGa-esque mechanics in the original. Of course, there were literally SaGa veterans involved in its development.
