KOTOR Remake Still in Development, Saber CEO Says

Darth Revan lights up his lightsaber in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake.

The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake is “alive and well,” Saber Interactive head honcho Matthew Karch has confirmed.

Karch told IGN that the KOTOR remake is still in the works and that his studio is “dedicated to making sure [they] exceed consumer expectations.”

Saber kept the rights to the KOTOR remake when it split off from Embracer Group earlier this year.

In late 2023, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier tweeted that two Saber employees confirmed the game’s continued development.

The game had originally been a project of Aspyr, which was a division of Saber during the Embracer days. Aspyr had spent three years working on it even before the initial reveal in 2021. Saber took the reins in 2022 amid hinted quality issues.
