Developer FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment have released a brand-new CGI story trailer for Shadow of the Erdtree, the expansion DLC for 2022 megahitĀ Elden Ring, which releases about one month from today ā€” June 21st.

Spoiler alert: it’s kinda dark…

One of RPGFan’s 30 most anticipated games of 2024, Shadow of the Erdtree allows players to step into the Realm of Shadow to explore a new adventure, confront threatening bosses, and follow in the footsteps of Miquella to unravel a darker side of theĀ Elden Ring story.Ā

As we detailed in late February, pre-orders for Shadow of the Erdtree are up. The expansion will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, andĀ PC via Steam. Among other juicy notes, Gio highlights what fans can expect from the collectorā€™s edition (roughly $270 USD). On the other hand, there are those of us simpletons who might just want to buy the expansion digitally ($39.99).

And yes, if you’re like the rest of us and have yet to completely hop on the Elden Ring wagon, there are special editions that net you both the base game as well as the expansion.

Speaking of the original, the great Jerry Williams literally gave it a 99 when he reviewed it in 2022. So yeah… we should probably put this one on our radar.

Stay tuned to RPGFan as we count down the days to June 21st and be sure to check back for more Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree news whenever the latest info drops!
