During this week’s PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted 2024, publisher Fellow Traveller and independent developer Jump Over the Age shared a stylish date announce trailer (below) for “dice-driven” RPG Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector. The much anticipated sequel to 2022’s highly acclaimed Citizen Sleeper will release on January 31st for Windows via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Games Pass.
About Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector and Developer Jump Over the Age
As an escaped Sleeper with a malfunctioning body, players will get a ship, find a crew, navigate relationships, and take on contracts as they explore the Starward Belt – all while trying to survive. They will have to choose between pushing their luck for greater rewards or potentially taking on stress that damages their dice – their only true means of survival – and accrue glitches in their Sleeperās system.
Jump Over the Age is a one-person game development studio founded by Gareth Damian Martin (they/them). Gareth is the winner of GDCA and Indiecade awards, and has been nominated for a Games Award, multiple IGF Awards, a GDC Award, and four BAFTAs. They have been named both āAn accomplished world-builderā (Edge Magazine) and āone of the most exciting indie talents aroundā (Eurogamer).
For Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, Gareth is once again joined by renowned comic book artist, Guillaume Singelin and celebrated composer, Amos Roddy – the same exceptionally talented development team responsible for Citizen Sleeperās moving narrative, eye-popping art and immersive music and sound.

Alongside the release date comes the limited-time Hexport Demo available via Steam until December 8th. Previously available in October, this demo is back for a short time due to popular demand.
Take a journey into the opening of Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, the highly anticipated sequel to one of 2022ās most acclaimed RPGs. Visit the hostile Hexport, and meet locals both friendly and untrustworthy. Your goal is to repair your ship and escape before you are caught – but will you be able to do so in time?
Choose a class, configure your skills and assemble your crew in unique tabletop-inspired gameplay. Your future depends on the roll of a dice, as you make difficult choices in a complex world. Reinventing the award-winning systems of Citizen Sleeper, this RPG will satisfy both fans of the original game and new players alike.
- A Ship, A Crew, A Contract: Take control of your very own (stolen) ship, choose your crew and earn cryo through risky, but rewarding Contracts.
- Lifeās Still A Gamble: Citizen Sleeper’s revolutionary dice system returns, revised for the sequel. Manage your stress, deal with glitches, and more.
- Push Your Luck: Utilise the all-new “Push” ability to turn the tide of a difficult job – or put yourself in jeopardy.
- Choose Your Future: New skill checks allow you to express your class and character in scenes, as well as branching storylines that will ask you to make hard choices.
Citizen Sleeper received highly positive reviews across the industry whilst also winning it’s developer many awards and nominations. RPGFan’s own Aleks Franiczek reviewed Citizen Sleeper quite highly. Although noting it was quite a unique RPG that would not serve all tastes, Aleks found the game’s world “imaginative,” its story “evocative & punchy” carried by a diverse cast, and “immersive” music and sound design.
Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector will release on January 31st for Windows via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Games Pass.
December can often be a quiet time for the gaming industry, but with this PC gaming event and the upcoming Game Awards, RPGFan is not short of news and announcements to keep you informed and entertained this holiday season.
