Kepler Interactive and developer Sandfall Interactive have released the first in a new series of character trailers for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 aimed at introducing its core cast of characters. This initial trailer paints a stark image of Gustave, voiced by Charlie Cox (Daredevil, Stardust), bringing both pistol and sword against a looming end. Check out the trailer below!

Specifically, Gustave is an engineer dedicated to feeding and defending Lumière, his home city. In his last years of life, he becomes an Expeditioner set on defeating the Paintress so that Lumière’s children and their future will be bright.
Sandfall Interactive has confirmed that each primary character will have a unique mechanic in its turn-based combat. Briefly seen above, Gustave utilises the dodge, parry, and combat mechanics to gain stacks of Overcharge for devastating attacks.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Overview
The story centers around an entity known as the Paintress, a being who, once a year, paints a number that leads all of that age to fade away. Every year, the number decreases and erases more people. The game follows the eponymous Expedition 33 as they journey to stop the Paintress a single day before she awakes again. For more on what to expect, check out a synopsis below:
