Indie Quest 2025 Roundup

The inaugural Indie Quest has come and gone, and I think it’s safe to say it made good on its tagline. More than 40 indie JRPGs got the spotlight during the show, with many of them totally new to me, and I consider myself pretty up to date with upcoming releases. By my count, 52 different titles were shown, including ones that are already out in one form or another.

You can watch the Indie Quest premiere below if you missed it live. Plus, if you’re looking for a quick and dirty summary of all the JRPGs featured, you’ve come to the right place. Scroll down for a list of titles and their present status. Many launch dates/windows were announced or confirmed during the show. You’ll also find links to any demos on Steam or active crowdfunding campaigns.

NOTE: “*” means the game is out in Early Access; “**” means the full release is out.

During the show, host The Gaming Shelf called on viewers to support Armed Fantasia and Penny Blood amid their publishing struggles. The two games held a joint Kickstarter campaign in 2022 that raised about ¥379 million JPY. Neither title has secured a publishing partner so far.

And that’s it! Indie Quest is merely the beginning of the busy summer season, so keep tuned to RPGFan for the latest reveals, previews, and more!
