Fangamer and developer Mortis Ghost have announced that the remaster of classic indie RPG OFFwill release digitally on August 15th for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The confirmation came during the latest Day of the Devs presentation, accompanied by a short trailer showcasing its retro-spooky aesthetic. Check it out below!

Physical editions for Nintendo Switch are available for pre-order via Fangamer’s website, with confirmation that they will ship sometime during Q4 this year. An additional trailer detailing specific combat mechanics in the game was also shown at the MIX Online Summer Showcase. Check it out below!
Originally released for free in 2008, OFF puts the player (known in-game as the controller) in control of The Batter, a baseball man on a mission to purify the world. With guidance from a talking cat known as The Judge, he will journey through four Zones, fighting in turn-based battles against many spectral foes. For a deeper look at what players can expect, check out an official synopsis below:
Key Features
Uncover the secrets of an uncanny world and command a being known as The Batter.
Crush the specters with the help of an all-new battle system.
Find a rollercoaster too scary to ride, a library terrorized by a page thief, a mall that you cannot escape.
The new version of OFF features all-new areas and bosses designed by the game’s creator Mortis Ghost.
Purify the Queen’s Zones so her citizens can get back to work.
OFF Screenshots
An OFF prologue demo is currently live on Steam, giving players keen to try it out access to its opening section and first Zone with full save transfer once the game launches. As a key inspiration to Undertale and Toby Fox aiding in the development of the remaster (and briefly, technically, appearing in the Day of the Devs video above), I’m deeply curious to try out this piece of indie internet RPG history once it releases later this year.
OFF will launch on August 15th for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
