Persona 4 Revival & Persona 6 Also Coming to Nintendo Switch 2

Atlus has announced that a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Persona 4 Revival will be released on May 20th, 2027, a few months after its release on other platforms. The developer has also confirmed that Persona 6 will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2. The information was revealed during the latest Nintendo Direct in the form of two short teasers. Originally announced in 2025, Persona 4 Revival is a full-scale remake of 2008’s Persona 4 (and Persona 4 Golden), fusing school-life simulation with an extensive dungeon-crawling RPG. Players take on the role of an unnamed transfer student who has recently moved to the rural Japanese town of Inaba. During the course of a school year, players will guide the unnamed protagonist and key classmates-turned-friends, exploring a series of linked dungeons in the Midnight Channel to uncover the truth behind a series of murders. Between those adventures, players must guide the protagonist through the hectic life of a student, managing socialising and extra-curricular activities via day-by-day choices and time-based mechanics.

Revealed earlier this year, little to no information has been officially released about Persona 6, the next mainline Persona entry. It will be the first entry since Persona 2: Eternal Punishment not led by Katsura Hashino, who is responsible for directing the last three entries in the mainline Persona series. Beyond that, its official synopsis confirms it to be centred around school life and the supernatural, with specifics to be given in the future:

With the strength of the Nintendo Switch 2, I think it’s cool that both upcoming Persona games inspired by the past and heading to the future of the series will have a portable home there for fans new and old.

Persona 4 Revival will launch February 18th, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and PC via Steam. It will release on May 20th, 2027, for Nintendo Switch 2. It will also be available for Game Pass.

Persona 6 will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. It will also be available for Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Anywhere. No release date has been given at the time of writing.
