Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia Soundtrack

Review by · March 31, 2010

This soundtrack was a promotional bonus item for the North American version of Order of Ecclesia. It contains six tracks, all pulled from the Japanese 2 disc OST. Five original tracks, one arranged track. Total time? Under 15 minutes. Ouch.

Now, they did an excellent job selecting good tracks. These are some of the best tracks from the OST. “Empty Tome,” “Edge of the Sky,” “Ebony Wings:” these three “E” tracks (talking about the track title there) are Excellent. “Edge of the Sky” rocks a rhythmic 6/8 (interchanging emphasis on 1, 3, 5 and 1, 4) in the bass line, and the melody is a nonstop neo-baroque onslaught of goodness.

If you got this CD, enjoy it. If you didn’t get this CD but want it, you may be able to find it far easier than going after the 2-disc Japanese OST, which is already a collector’s item as it never went retail. It’s more fantastic, dance/rock/synth-pop Castlevania music that you’re sure to love.
