Crest of “Z’s”: Super Robot Taisen Z Theme Song

Review by · May 23, 2009

Crest of “Z’s” is the most awesome song I’ve ever heard from JAM Project. I’m serious.

I’m not a huge JAM Project fanboy, and I’m generally not into the giant mecha anime scene. JAM Project really went “hardcore” with this particular single, though. This theme song single, for Super Robot Taisen Z, displays a greater diversity than any other SRT single I’ve listened to.

Some of the guitar and bass riffs in Crest of “Z’s” rival what you’d hear from bands like Dragon Force. Indeed, I’d love to play this song on a rhythm-game like Rock Band or Guitar Hero. The musical merit to the song really boosts the theme a full level above previous singles. As for the ending theme, “Cosmic Dance,” it is the least cheesy/cliché ending theme I’ve yet heard from JAM Project. It has a surprisingly fast tempo, yet somehow manages to remain soft enough to be considered a relaxing piece of music.

If you’re ready to rock, pick up this single. Or, if you need to rock out with a full album of JAM Project songs, including the two on this single, be sure to check out the JAM Project Songs full album, which was released around the same time as the Crest of “Z’s” single.
