Growlanser VI Precarious World Original Soundtrack

Growlanser VI: it’s more of the same, but in a good way.

The composers Tuschiya and Seki return from their experience on Growlanser V, a soundtrack I praised for its oldschool compositions with high quality synth, to do their work on Growlanser VI. Everything I liked about the G5 OST, I like it about G6 as well. However, this soundtrack is considerably shorter, as it is only one disc.

The opening and ending themes, performed by “Chata,” are excellent as well. The opening track wastes no time in getting to the power-pop goodness, and Chata’s voice sounds great alongside the distorted electric guitar. The ending track, of course, is a slower piece, and Chata takes a more gentle approach to the vocals. These songs really help to bring out the feel of the game, though it’s a far cry from the music Iwadare and friends brought in the original Growlanser.

The audio samples speak for themselves. Personally, I think this is a great little soundtrack. I don’t have high hopes for the game itself, but I think Tsuchiya and Seki are a great pair, and they create really solid VGM. Be sure to check this one out.
