Sekaiju no MeiQ 2 *syoou no seihai* sound track: Piano sketch version

Review by · July 4, 2008

This promotional item came to Japanese gamers who took the time to preorder the sequel to the DS hit known in America as “Etrian Odyssey.” Seven tracks of piano-arranged goodness. It was a complete surprise, and it was also surprisingly good.

Seriously, I believe this is the first time a work of Yuzo Koshiro’s has gotten the piano solo treatment. And it makes me wish this would happen more often.

Each track on this album is arranged very well, with a lot of the attention to detail that makes an advanced piano arrangement worthwhile. The battle theme (track 2) really caught my attention. But the slow songs worked equally well.

Hopefully this album will be extended and released for retail. But if that doesn’t happen, Yahoo! Japan Auctions is your friend.
