Suite Dragon Quest I•II

Review by · October 27, 2009

So here’s a neat trick. Take the “live recorded” portions from two extremely old albums and repackage them on this one disc as part of a massive Dragon Quest / Sugiyama library reprint on King Records.

Yes, the “Suite Dragon Quest” and “Suite Dragon Quest II” orchestral/jazz/live recorded tracks (from albums with catalog numbers BY30-5121 and BY30-5136) have been joined together on this lovely little album.

The Tokyo Strings Ensemble did some extremely offbeat jazzy stuff that just doesn’t fit the Sugiyama style that we’ve all come to know and love. But, if you want to hear something different from Sugiyama… well, here it is! Pick it up while it’s still fresh.
