Superfly – Eyes On Me

Review by · December 31, 2010

Theme songs are just going downhill from here, aren’t they? I thought the Japanese FFXIII single was vanilla garbage. Then comes along Superfly’s “Eyes On Me” for The 3rd Birthday (aka Parasite Eve 3). It has nothing to do with FFVIII’s “Eyes On Me” by Faye Wong, and it is clearly inferior to that classic.

My favorite track on the singles is the B-Side “Prima Donna.” But even that is nothing special. The whole single is dumb. I don’t understand the appeal of this particular female vocalist at all. S-E is doing a worse and worse job picking good theme songs, choosing commercialism over actually fitting the theme of the game. This is really a bad trend. And that’s all I have to say about that.
