The Legend of Heroes IV Electric Orchestra

Review by · August 27, 2000

Pay no attention to the first two tracks, and this is the coolest CD! 😉

As you can tell by my previous statement, I really don’t like the first two tracks. However, the rest of the CD is really well-done as for arrangement. I’m a big fan of Terashima’s work (other Falcom arrangements…Music for the anime Key: The Metal Idol) and this just did it for me.

So, you ask, “What in the world is an ‘Electric’ Orchestra?” Well, my friends, the answer is clear. This is synth music, but the synth is so high-quality that you could easily mistake them for live instruments (similar to Star Ocean II Arranged, except this CD was done years before that one). No regular MIDI could handle this CD’s prowess, and thus this is a superior arranged soundtrack to many others.

It’s a harder find these days, but I recommend it to any Falcom fan with a mature taste. I enjoyed this CD thoroughly, and I think any VGM fan would do likewise.
