The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask Orchestrations

Review by · November 21, 2004

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask was not one of my favorites in the Legend of Zelda series. Though it had interesting gameplay, to me it lacked the epic feel that was in its predecessors, such as Ocarina of Time and Link to the Past. It seems that my feelings for the game extend to the soundtrack, for though it is not a bad CD, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask Orchestrations was not one of my favorites.

I would like to say, however, that this CD is not without merit. There is one track on this CD that stands out. The second track, Termina Field, is excellent. This is a great medley of the Zelda theme with a piano section that gives me goose bumps every time I listen to it. There are some other good tracks, such as Goron Village and The Indigo-Go’s – Daru Blue Big Band Version, but nothing that compares to Termina Field.

This CD, though it has some good highlights, just doesn’t have the charm that some of the better Zelda soundtracks do. If you were and are a huge fan of Majora’s Mask and its music, it might be a worthwhile purchase, but if not, you probably shouldn’t spend the money. Also, if you do decide to get it, you should be warned that it’s an Enterbrain item, which means it will be difficult to find.
