Tokyo Majin Gakuen Sougakushou Ten no Shou

Review by · June 18, 2009

I don’t know why this soundtrack exists.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the music. I like it a lot, in fact. But the difference between this album and its predecessor, “Jin no Shou,” I cannot determine. About 70% of the tracklist is the same. The music quality isn’t that different (it was a port from PS1 to PS2 that prompted this soundtrack). The albums came out only one year apart.

Takashi Nitta writes some great music. I loved Kowloon Treasure, and I loved Tokyo Majin Gakuen. I got this soundtrack thinking “well, maybe there will be a big change in audio quality.” There wasn’t. The synths sound virtually unchanged.

This album isn’t worth owning if you have the other soundtrack, “Jin no Shou,” from MOVIC. If you haven’t heard or owned either version of the soundtrack, I guess you would want to get this one. That’s all the more I can think to say about this soundtrack. An unnecessary reissue of music, if ever there was one.
