Chocobo’s Dungeon 2 is out now after Square EA decided to release it early for the holidays. So what’s so good about this game with the ‘Everyone’ rating?
Chocobo’s Dungeon 2 is a simple yet fun RPG that will keep kids thrilled for hours and hardcore gamers challenged for weeks! The game utilizes a random dungeon system so every time you re-enter the same dungeon, the layout and placement of enemies will be different. Simple attacks like Chocobo kicks to more advanced attacks can be used in the game. Not to mention an assortment of spells!
The graphics are cutesy, but what the hell, the game is meant for everyone so just live with it! The story centers around Chocobo and his friends in the search for treasure. It’s all out mayhem from there on! The game also has one of the cutest intros of any game I’ve seen so far and it really is a pity the first Chocobo Dungeon wasn’t ported over. The sound and music are usually the cheerful and cutesy type and should make those little tots out there happy. But one thing I’ll say, the story is simple. Simple to the extent that some hardcore RPG players might not be able to stomach it.
Overall, the greatest plus to this game is its replayability. You can play this game over and over and never get sick of it. On a side note though, there is a very UGLY aspect to this game. Imagine: you wander around a dungeon for hours collecting a HORDE of treasure, then you encounter an enemy that hits you with a Doom spell. You lose EVERYTHING you collected in the dungeon and you’d probably be moaning and wailing in that comfy armchair of yours. Trust me, I’ve experienced it. Oh well, I guess it adds to the replay.
