Dragon Age: Dreadwolf to Launch This Financial Year, New Report Says

“A threat looms in Thedas”

These five words, set against a murky purple background, are what greet those who visit EA’s home page for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. Although a recent Eurogamer report has the next installment of this beloved Western RPG series due out by the end of the financial year ending March 31st, 2025, perhaps we’re not the only fans who see the above statement more like:

“A threat looms in Thedas…. at least hopefully before the end of the financial calendar…”

It’s not that many of us on staff aren’t thrilled about the possibility of returning to a fantasy realm that we’ve saved from hordes of darkspawn (Dragon Age: Origins), a Qunari squatting incident (Dragon Age II), and a literal rip in the fabric of the sky (Dragon Age Inquisition); it’s just that we’ve sort of seen this teaser trailer before.

Since that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf teaser at The Game Awards 2020, the game has cleared the alpha phase. This past December, we learned that a “full reveal” is coming this summer.

Forgive this old Grey Warden for being a little pessimistic. Ultimately, having no news isn’t very informative, so to hear that we’ll be receiving more Dragon Age: Dreadwolf details in a few weeks (and presumably some type of release date window) is a good thing.

In the meantime, our Retro Encounter podcast has recently gone back to the series. You can listen to our 2024 impressions of the first two games: Dragon Age: Oranges Origins and Dragon Age II.

Be sure to check back in a few weeks for any other bits of news regarding Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, and, as always, keep it tuned into the RPGFan main page for all things RPG.

He discovered the RPGFan community a couple of years ago and, after growing up in Western Canada as a "jock," was thrilled to realize that there were others in the world who learned roman numerals as a teenager thanks to the Final Fantasy series. Contributing to the news team is his main objective at the site and it is his goal to project the confidence of Ron Burgundy while keeping everyone from realizing he might just be Brick Tamland.
