Atlus has also confirmed that a special in-depth broadcast for Persona 4 Revival will air on June 18th (4 PM PT / 7 PM ET) via the official ATLUS West YouTube channel. It will feature director Kazuhisa Wada detailing further what players might expect from this upcoming remake.

Persona 4 Revival puts players in the role of an unnamed protagonist who arrives as a transfer student in the fictional rural Japanese town of Inaba. Throughout the course of a school year, the protagonist will slowly find friends, awaken supernatural powers, and uncover the truth behind a spate of mysterious murders and an eerie TV space known as the Midnight Channel.

For those unfamiliar with Persona 4, players will choose from a variety of activities ranging from minigames (such as karaoke or fishing), improving social stats, or tending to a wide array of friendships found at school and around Inaba by day. By night, players will explore the Midnight Channel, a supernatural space found in a television that arrays itself into themed dungeons for the protagonist and his allies to explore. In that exploration, they will fight in turn-based battles, wielding supernatural entities known as Persona against Shadows, exploiting weaknesses to gain the upper hand.

Persona 4 Revival New Screenshots

Persona 4 was originally released in 2008 for the PlayStation 2. It was followed by Persona 4 Golden, an expanded remaster for PlayStation Vita in 2011, with a PC port released in 2020 and current-gen console ports in 2023. For our thoughts on Persona 4 Golden, I direct you to our original PS Vita review and more recent PC review.

With the tandem announcement of Persona 6, it seems like Atlus is celebrating its long-standing history with its flagship franchise’s 30th anniversary. I genuinely believe these remakes will give players new and old reasons to start and return to the legacy of a genre-defining series. As someone who hasn’t played Persona 4, I know I’ll be tuning in early next year.

Persona 4 Revival will launch February 18th, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and PC via Steam. It will also be available for Game Pass. For more information, please check out its official website.
