[Mike is here to interject with a discussion on the game’s title because he likes discussing such things…] It’s worth discussing the title itself, too. Many Tales fans will know that Tales of Eternia was famously originally localized under the name Tales of Destiny II, in an effort to help brand recognition as 1997’s Tales of Destiny (the first in the series to be localized), despite there being no connection between the games’ world and cast. While there is some logic behind it, some wonder if this was a contributing factor in Destiny’s actual PS2 sequel, Tales of Destiny 2, never being officially localized. Speculation aside, it’s nice to see Tales of Eternia gets to retain its proper name in this release! And now back to Trent’s story…
Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed that Tales of Eternia Remastered will receive a digital deluxe edition that includes:
- A copy of the base game
- A digital art book
- A digital soundtrack
- A Battle BGM pack
- An in-game item pack
Tales of Eternia Remastered will sport extensive quality-of-life features that include destination markers, the choice to disable enemy encounters, high-speed mode via auto-battling, and greater difficulty modes available from the start. It will also include a toggle between the remastered audio and graphics and their original forms. The game puts players in the role of Reid Hershel and his allies as he seeks to stop a calamitous event known as the “Grand Fall” between the realms of Inferia and Celestia. Players will engage in real-time battle, utilising abilities known as Artes that are interweaved with basic attacks in combo strings, aiming to deal massive elemental damage.
