This week is a somewhat light list of RPGs Coming This Week. Whether most publishers don’t want to launch alongside Star Fox, or they’re just too damned tired after all the gaming news in June, we have two new releases this week. We also have a trio of games coming to new platforms, including the console debut of an impressive PC release from summer 2025. Two of our five games have a creepy vibe to them, a different two of the five feature necromancy, and all five are worth looking into. Let’s get to it!

NONEWORLD – June 22nd (Windows)

NONEWORLD is a turn-based RPG with a monochromatic hand-drawn art style reminiscent of Omori and In Stars and Time. The game is divided into three separate chapters, each promising unique characters and gameplay concepts. It appears the party is accompanied by a Cheshire Cat, wearing its Alice in Wonderland inspiration on its sleeve. Trippy visuals, strange and disturbing encounters, and a mind-bending plot are a sure bet. The turn-based combat promises to be quite engaging, with a wide variety of skills, status effects, damage types, and other modifiers on display in the screenshots. While many RPGs of this type focus on storytelling with simpler mechanics, I appreciate that this one puts more emphasis on the combat and exploration gameplay. Definitely one to check out if you love quirky, experimental RPGs like Look Outside or Undertale.

Deluge – June 25th (Windows)

Deluge is a horror RPG where you play as a resurrected skeleton warrior in service to a necromancer. Forced to do the bidding of your evil master, yet plagued by memories of your human life, you are tasked with exploring the village of Figaro. Locked doors, hidden items, and spooky monsters populate the abandoned village, all hallmarks of a classic survival horror title. However, the gameplay features turn-based combat, puzzle-solving, and NPC interactions, combining the two classic genres to hopefully siphon out the strengths of both!
I’m personally a big fan of games that combine the structure, atmosphere, and tone of horror with the mechanics and presentation of an RPG. There are many classic games made in RPG Maker that blend these styles well (Witch’s House, Ib, and Yume Nikki, to name a handful), and Deluge is itself a more fully-featured remake of Deluge 2003 from 2021. I find that these solo-creator RPG/horror hybrid games often have unique and interesting ideas that might be passed up in a more conventional mainstream horror game. Here’s hoping Deluge delivers a unique experience all its own!

Also Coming This Week

The Necromancer’s Tale – June 24th (PS5, Switch 2, XBX)
The Necromancer’s Tale originally launched on PC via Steam on July 17th, 2025 and made an appearance in that week’s RPGs Coming This Week column, too. Almost a year on, and still sitting at “Very Positive” reviews on Steam, Psychic Software’s narrative-heavy gothic CRPG comes to consoles this week. In the developers’ own words:
The Necromancer’s Tale is a story-rich game, with 400,000 words of hand-written narrative and lore, in which you converse with 180+ NPC characters, each with their own hand-drawn portrait art (we have not used any generative AI in the game). You will investigate, negotiate, coerce and flatter in order to progress your aims. The game’s Trust system means that your choices – even in conversation – really matter. If the townsfolk’s trust drops too low, you will find your choices are affected – if it drops further still, you will surely be tried in court and hanged, or lynched by a frenzied mob.
Your character is created in an interactive and fully voiced backstory, defining your gender, early life, skills and career (military, diplomatic, or academic). Narrative options during the main game are affected by these choices.
It’s kind of funny to think how many CRPGs come to consoles these days, given what the “C” stands for, but more than anything, it’s great to see devs able to bring such experiences to controller-based devices, and hopefully find new audiences. It’s clear a lot of effort and love went into this one, so if that “C” in CRPG means “console” for you, give this one a look.

Citizen Sleeper & Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector – June 25th (Switch 2)
It feels like we were just talking about developer Jump Over the Age… because we were, when they revealed their next game, the stylish and fascinating black and white “fungalpunk” RPG, Signet City. Be sure to read our article to learn more on that one! But for current games, it’s likely you at least know of Citizen Sleeper and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector by now, given how acclaimed both games are. Their cyberpunk stylings and choice-heavy gameplay have earned the titles a whole lot of fans, and it’s great when a sequel can build on the first game but offer something unique at the same time. Both games were already on basically all other current- and previous-generation platforms, so it was only a matter of time before Switch 2 editions landed, which happens this week. If you’ve not yet taken the plunge on either game, I direct you to Aleks Franiczek’s excellent reviews of Citizen Sleeper and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector.
