Square Enix has released a demo version of Final Fantasy Resonance for consoles and PC via Steam, ahead of its late October release. The announcement came via the latest Sony State of Play with a new trailer, focusing on a certain one-winged angel. Check out below!
Final Fantasy Resonance Demo Announce Trailer
The demo gives players access to the first chapter of Final Fantasy Resonance, totaling around three to five hours of gameplay, with save data carrying over to the full game upon its release. Sephiroth acts as an optional challenge that players can seek out and challenge, and if victorious, they will earn a special item, presumably unique to that encounter.
Final Fantasy Resonance is an entire rebuild of the first story arc of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, the now-defunct mobile game originally released in 2016. It tells the story of best friends Rain and Laswell, airship commanders and best friends, in the lead-up to and failure to protect their home kingdom, their allies, and the Crystal that protected them. With a mysterious woman named Fina, they take up a world-spanning quest to protect the remaining Crystals against a malevolent warrior known as Veritas of the Dark. As said previously, I’m deeply excited to see the now-closed mobile RPGs of Square Enix’s history become fully-fledged single-player experiences rather than be lost entirely. If Octopath Traveler 0 is any indication, Final Fantasy Resonance should stand to be a classic experience reimagined in ways that will be familiar to fans new and old!
Final Fantasy Resonance will release on October 22nd for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 1 & 2, and PC via Steam.
