Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is an enhanced version of the Japan-only DS title, Ni no Kuni: Dominion of the Dark Djinn. Famous for its Studio Ghibli-produced animated sequences and inspired-art style, Ni no Kuni is one of the most gorgeous looking games of its generation. Throughout the game you collect familiars who you use in combat to fight on your behalf.

The story is as touching and sweet as the film studio’s own that inspired the visuals. Oliver is a young boy who, after his mother passes away suddenly, awakens a fairy named Drippy. This fairy tells Oliver he can save his mother’s life by visiting Drippy’s home world, the “other world”. It was easily one of the best RPGs on the PlayStation 3, which is now on Nintendo Switch. It’s also available as a remastered title for PlayStation 4 and Windows.
