Chrono Cross Music Selection

Review by · September 18, 2000

This little Chrono Cross sample CD was released with Square’s “Summer of Adventure 2000” promotion, which was given to anyone who put a $10 reserve or more on the game to which this sample CD is featured.

Many were upset to see that these CDs are only 5 tracks each and hoped for more. If anything, it was felt that Square should released the entire OST in America if they’ve gone far enough just to release this selection CD. And though it is unlikely, this little CD has started somewhat of a controversy.

The most upsetting thing, in my opinion, about this CD was that the ending vocal track was not included. I suppose they would’ve had to get some more signatures and documents than they wanted to put that on, I suppose. The best track on this sample, by far, is track 5: “The Girl Who Stole the Star.”

Miss out on the pre-order? Still want this little American gem of VG music? You’re only real hope is eBay, though I don’t know why you’d want it when you could get the full 3 disc OST.
