Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

While there has been a glutton of Dragon Ball Z video games that cover the first four main arcs of the show, not many of them have been RPGs. The Saiyan Saga, Namek Saga, Android Saga, and the Buu Saga are all retold in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot with accurate recreations of everyone’s favourite fight scenes and many of the shows most memorable character moments.

The game allows you to fly around many open environments as both Goku and his son Gohan, with a combat system reminiscent of the Budokai fighting games. It’s packed to the brim with sidequests that refer to many of the show’s side stories, and characters who are both original and not part of the Z series make an appearance. Kakarot is a game that’s designed to appeal to fans of the show, while also providing newcomers with a decent, if truncated, retelling of one of the most popular anime worldwide.
