RPGFan Games of the Year 2020: Overall Awards

RPGFan Games of the Year 2020 Overall Awards

Welcome to RPGFan’s Games of the Year 2020!

First of all, we know we’re releasing these a little later in the year than we have in the past, but with some big titles releasing late in the year, we wanted to be sure we gave our staff the appropriate time to come to a decision about these games.

For the most part, our awards are organized in the same manner they have in the past. You’ll find three different parts to our Game of the Year feature. First, we will look at revealing overall favorites, along with the choices that you all voted on, where we pick our favorites amongst characters, combat, and more. We have a couple new categories this year, too, and as always, this is where we reveal the winners of our Readers’ Choice voting.

Additionally, sixteen of our editors have chosen some of their personal favorites from the year, and I personally always like this part of our feature the most.

Finally, we have podcast episodes looking at the best games of the year from both Random Encounter and Retro Encounter. So give those a listen to hear what our thoughts on this year were as well.

We hope you enjoy reading about our final results as much as we enjoyed compiling them! Here’s to 2021!
